PEACE looks like JUSTICE, a film festival of global magnitude.

pLLj is a twice monthly guerrilla style film festival/screening event. Having launched last year with resounding success at the new East Village Arts District's event- LAST SAT, (lastsaturday.com) the launch was followed by a number of subsequent celebrations on street corners in Long Beach, where communities and issues came together under the flicker of short films being projected on the walls from director, Oriana Bolden's old VW.

2007 promises additional [spontaneous and planned] screenings around the country as well as our now regular event at the corner of Broadway and Linden in Long Beach.

At proj-ectPRO:JECT's first screening we found that projecting on street corners proved to be not only conversation-inspiring but crowd-pleasing, and, at one point even inspiring spontaneous dance from several children, AND their parents!
...And what were they dancing to? The soundtrack of a short film from Burkina Faso, entitled, 1 ou le Cercle de danse/1 or the Dance Circle moved the crowd. Other short films screened were from Long Beach, New York, Mexico, Romania and India.

Please submit your video expressions of justice. We welcome short animation, experimental, narrative, documentary, multi-media, etc.- anything under 28 minutes, so long as you feel it has something to do with JUSTICE!

Monthly deadline= the 15th of the month for inclusion in the following month's regular screening.

4. Entry fee of $2 to $10 sliding scale (to cover admin costs)- no film turned away due to lack of entry fee.
5. Any flyers, postcards, stickers, order forms or supplemental info that you would like passed out to viewers.

Whether you have a movie to send or not, join us as we watch films about justice, action, hope and liberation on the third Thursday and last Saturday of each month--- 3rd Thurs at Blue Nile CafŽ, from 8 to 10 pm, at 438 E Broadway in Long Beach and Last Sat.s at the corner of Linden and Broadway just after Sundown. Other nation-wide screenings to be announced.
